There is so much to do in this Big State. I will try to attend as many events as possible and report back on The Mexiplex

Castroville St. Louis Day

The St. Louis Day Festival, known as the "Homecoming for the State of Texas," is a long-standing tradition held under the pecan trees on the banks of the Medina River in Castroville, Texas. This lively event features live entertainment, children's games, a silent auction, and the famous two-meat BBQ plate with smoked brisket and homemade Alsatian sausage. The festival kicks off with a Biergarten party on Saturday evening, followed by a full day of festivities on Sunday, including Holy Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church. The 143rd St. Louis Day Celebration will take place on August 23-24, 2025.

The Mosquito Festival

The Great Texas Mosquito Festival is a fun-filled annual event held in Clute, Texas, celebrating its 43rd year in 2025. This lively festival features entertainment, contests, a BBQ cookoff, carnival rides, and family-friendly activities, including the Mosquito Chase 5K. The 43rd Great Texas Mosquito Festival will take place from July 24-26, 2025.

MayFest
 

Mayfest is Fort Worth's biggest community celebration, held annually in Trinity Park. This four-day festival features live music, carnival rides, performing arts, pet adoptions, an Art & Gift Market, and a variety of festival food. Visitors can enjoy entertainment, shopping, and family-friendly activities across 33 acres along the Trinity River. The 2025 Mayfest will take place from May 1-4, with free admission on Thursday, May 1.

134th annual Battle of Flowers 

 Friday, May 2, 2025 with a step-off time of 9:55am.

This year's theme is "Melodies in Bloom: A Texas Serenade," celebrating the rich musical heritage of Texas. The parade will feature flower-covered floats, giant helium balloons, horse-drawn carriages, antique cars, and thousands of students in marching bands and pep squads.

The Battle of Flowers Parade is a cornerstone of Fiesta San Antonio, attracting over 350,000 spectators from around the nation. It honors the defenders of the Alamo and Goliad and commemorates the victory at the Battle of San Jacinto.
