My family and I went to visit my sister and her family at Jellystone near Burleson, Texas. It was a crisp day at the end of September. She met us at the front and guided us to her Silo. She was staying in a Silo styled room.
It had a studio styled room on the bottom floor with a bed, sofa, kitchen and a full bathroom. You climbed up a spiral staircase to the top where you would find two sets of bunk beds and a half bath. I tell you looking down from the height was a bit much for me. So, I stayed on the bottom floor with my sister. They also had a BBQ area attached to their silo room.
After lunch we went exploring. We took a hayride around the grounds. On the hay ride it's actually a "Hey" ride like what Yogi bear says. You sit on the bench, and they drive you behind a tractor. Then we played mini golf. The mini golf was a glow in the dark game with images like dinosaurs and gators. Then we hit the pool. The pool was mainly 3 feet deep. There was also a bar inside the pool. It was literally a swim up pool. We were in the pool for over an hour for sure. My girls had a great time in the pool with my nephews and niece. They had pool sinkers and were playing games in the pool. My husband and I took turns holding on to "chives" while crimson and clover played.
Later we continued to explore the grounds. We went to play some games. Starting with play air gel ball game. We all couldn't play some of these games because were brought the wrong type of shoes needed for safety. We had open toed shoes and you needed close toed shoes. In which my nephews and my brother in-law shot gel balls at each other and dodging other balls being shot at them by another family, My husband joined in when they were shooting soft tip arrows at each other. While the men were busy me, my sister and our girls went to a trampoline area and bounced around. My sister loaded us up on her golf cart that she rented for her stay and drove us around the pond.
Our day was not done yet. We went to the petting zoo and saw the animals before they were done for the day. You could brush the goats and llamas. We washed our hands and went to the ice cream parlor and relaxed and had our ice cream together.
Soon we would leave back home. Our busy day was fun. I can see why my sister has been to Jellystone at least 3 times before. With the variety of activities and the space were a kid or many kids can explore and not feel couped up in an hotel room. I had a great time and so did my family.
